All us old fuddy-duddies might as well pack it up, welcome the new star!

Steve, my guess is that last time you edited the keyboard layout, you forgot to save it. Noob mistake as it is, it's still way too easy to do. And for us old fuddy-duddies getting easier all the time!

    Good work man...

Thank you very much, janner43. I'm honoured. I couldn't have solved these challenges though without the advice and tips from you guys and other smart folks on the net. I'm glad I can contribute to the knowledge base.

    Thank you, Kevin.

It could have been something stupid like that. I was working on it at 2 AM so who knows.

THAT explains it. I had to give that up. But now I can't remember if it was because the neighbors complained or if I just couldn't stay awake.

Doesn't take much to get the one to complain. Several other neighbors have orders of protection against her. But I have a newer quieter keyboard anyway, but I don't like it; not enough resistance, too hair-trigger. Or maybe I'm just too ham-handed. Like I think I said, I just don't remember anymore. What were we talking about anyway?

    Kevin, janner43, droidbound,

I really hope this isn't a stupid question...

When I rooted and ROM'd my Nook Color years ago, I remember there was an option for putting the custom ROM on the micro SD and booting from that so you could test the custom ROM without actually installing it and replacing stock. I did that for a while to kick the tires and did eventually install the custom ROM completely.

Do you know if that's possible with Katkiss and the TF300T? I'm tempted to ROM it, but my wife is eyeing it, so not sure I'm ready to permanently put a new ROM on it that I'll have to support for her. But I wouldn't mind being able to put Katkiss on it to play with, then shutdown, pop the mSD out, power on, and give it back to her stock.

    Thanks,

    Steve
    Messing with Android since 2011:
    • Nook Color - CyanogenMod 7.2 and MiRaGe 7.2
    • ASUS MeMO Pad 7 - rooted, stock ROM
    • ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T - rooted, stock ROM
    • ASUS Transformer Pad TF701T - rooted, stock ROM
    • And several Samsung Galaxy smartphones over the years: S3, S7, J3

And a very long-time Palm OS user - Would you believe I still use one daily?
