@scruffy1
The thing that puzzles me is that you said you did a format of data in TWRP. If you did without flashing a rom afterwards you should not have been able to boot Android....
Define: format
TF700 on Android 7 Nougatella
TF701 Katshmallow (Android 6.0.1)
Pixel 2 Pi/Google Fi

Define: format
wipe > format data
or so i thought
is that not the way to proceed ?
thereafter i thought i was asking it to install from the external sd card, and it did taht *and* added supersu.zip on the list as selected (which i had added to the sd card)
while i'm here : if i use 7.03 DEODEX VERSION DOWNLOAD will it nuke twrp into the deal ? i don't want that to happen

Sorry to be so tedious but could you post the exact name of the file you flashed from external? Still puzzled...
No, flashing any custom rom will not do anything to the recovery. It has it's own partition and a rom flash does not touch it.

i linked the name above - it was WW TF701 TWRP 2.8.7.0 & 11.4.1.30 Booltloader zip Mirror 1
but given how fast it semed to do the process, i guess it didn't actually do squat
the weird part is i got twrp to stay where it was, and the original rom either reflashed or didn't get wiped in the process
go figure ! because i am not uber-nerd enough to understand what i did....
in other news of the moment, i have zombi pop up and running, and it seems very good, although i am keen on what kansasboy is up to here as i liked the weather widget on stock rom

I saw your posts on XDA. Congrats! Yeah, that widget is pretty but also has been very buggy. Shoot a nandroid before installing it and watch for weird error messages afterwards

is it possible to install them with zombi-pop (5.x) ? i thought they were specific to the 700, but happy to learn otherwise
i already have a nandroid of my current tweaked install on the sd card; i note my dock sd card was "mounted" as usb and in several iterations in the file manager...
- looks lik that's a common experience, and not a deal breaker
and also, do you know a way to regain the quick launch swipes from the home button that i enjoyed in crrombi-kk ?
thanks again for all your help !

I haven't been following his thread for a while, but he got the original ZenUI apps from the TF701, then ported them to the TF700. When LP came around he needed he new source but I do think he found it and was giving an ETA of August-ish. I doubt that he'll go through the trouble of porting whatever source he used to the TF701. Much bigger audience with the TF700.
Yeah it seems to be a bug in the Omni source code. sbdags tried a couple of fixes but they did not work. At this point I think we hve to consider the dock SD as not being supported.
Quick launch swipes? No idea what you mean... It's been a while since CROMBi-KK... But that rom was based on CM, this is based on Omni. Try the OmniSwitch (app drawer). Maybe you find what you're looking for
