With f2fs, Zombi-Pop is definitely snappier than before - no lag what-so-ever; however there are still delays between actions. Wonder if Crombi Resurrected would actually fix that? It is kinda too late now, I'm very much invested into the 5.1.1 - all the apps installed and set up, etc.

The Zombi-Pop ROM is usable at the moment. I just have to keep in mind it is like a walkie-talkie: do one thing at a time (talk OR listen, not both), and not to be greedy, trying to multitask too much and all... which is strange, because my cellphone feels faster and more powerful - I guess it makes sense, there is a 2-year gap between the tablet and my RedMi Note.

I'll keep it as is for now; giving the Infinity a chance and use it for a while before I whine and moan again. If things get worse, I'll try the Crombi Resurrected ROM instead.

In the meantime, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for all your help. It's been a rollercoaster ride with this tablet, and I am happy to have it in a (to-be-proven-)semi-working condition again. Definitely a breath of fresh air, with a custom ROM. Geez, should have done this waaaaaaaay earlier.

P.S. Is it normal that the CPU temperature of my Infinity constantly jumps to about 65 - 70 degrees Celsius when running an app or 6? Seems very scary to see such high temperature...

65-70 is no problem. Worry if it gets to the 85-90 range.

Turn off Google updates and any sync operations, that's usually what slows down a Droid. Multi-tasking should not be a problem. There are many user tweaks available to speed up a TF, I'd browse this forum and the Zombi-Pop one.

Keep in mind that with a Nandroid backup you are not going to lose your "investment"; run a backup, flash another ROM, if you don't like it restore your Nandroid and it never happened. This is one beauty of a custom recovery.
