Unable to Downgrade to Stock.....Help Please!

    Hi Guys,

I have the Asus Transformer Infinity tf700t (without the dock).

It is rooted, has TWRP 2.8.5.0 installed and TF700 Cromi-X Deodex 5.4 10.6.1.27.5 WW (4.2.1) installed .....Kernel Version 3.1.10-10.6.1.14.8-that4+that@ws #3.

I am having a few problems with this rom, nothing dramatic, but I now would like to go back to the stock rom and have everything, stock standard as I bought it originally.

I downloaded from Asus, a stock rom WW_epaduser10_6_1_14_10_UpdateLauncher.zip and a Kernel Source Code JB_6_1_14_10_kernel.rar

I pasted a copy of the Rom on my Micro SD Card on the Tablet, booted into Custom Recovery (twrp) and attempted to install the rom zip file, but it failed...........so, I am obviously doing something completely wrong here and desperately need the advice and correct installation instructions, from someone who knows what they are doing. How do I install the rom and the kernel and in what order?

I am reasonably computer savvy, but please any helpful information you can give, would be greatly appreciated, but keep it simple, so I can understand. I have posted this on the Android Forums also hoping for a reply.

    Thank You..........dixielee

And then make sure you unzipped the FW file ONCE, resulting in another .zip. Dunno why Asus finds it necessary to double-zip them but they do.

Edit: and you don't need the kernel source. Where did you find that anyway?

It's buried in Utilities, I believe...
@dixielee You did everything right, just missed the step about unzipping the downloaded file once. That'll get you right back to buggy, booooooooring stock
You sure you don't want help to fix your current installation??

Hello there.I have an Asus Transformer TF700T (without the dock)

    Omni version: 5.1.1-20151210-tf700t-NIGHTLY installed

    Kernel version: 3.1.10area51@grimlock_5.1.1+ lj50036@area51 #1

    Build number:TF700T_ZOMBi-POP-5.1.1-OMNI-DEODEX RC2 test-keys-1920x1200.

The device is rooted, has TRWP v2.8.0.1 intalled.

Now the problem is that i whant to downgrade to stock ROM (that`s not a problem,i know how to do this) what i don`t know is what this downgrade to stock ROM will do other than downgrade and put an poor ROM.

I understod that the unlocked thing is ireversible, but my device will be unrooted? After that can i make a factory reset?(i know that if i make now a factory reset i will have nothing but an expensive brick in my hands).I just whant to be able to do a factory reset whenever i whant and have the stock ROM. If someone cand help my with this i will be very very grateful.

P.S. I don`t know if this is the right place to post this questions.I apologize for any inconvenience.

    Thank you.

Mind if I ask why you want to do this??? The stock rom will make the tablet almost unusable in a very short time....
You can do a factory reset on any custom rom whenever you want to and twice on Sundays. You just cannot do it from Settings or the bootloader! You boot into TWRP, go to Wipe and swipe the button.
That will wipe /data (without wiping the /data/media folder), cache and Dalvik. Which happens to be..... a Factory Reset!!
But if you want to run stock, do yourself a favor and flash CROMI-X or CROMI-X Resurrected. They are stock, just modified to make the rom usable....

To switch roms you will have to do a FORMAT of data in TWRP first. Which i would recommend anyway....

And then - you could be running Nougat on this thing if you want to.....

The fact is that whatever i do with this TF700 tablet it`s still slower and keeps freezing in browser for a second or two from time to time, scroll down two times, freez. The battery didn't last more than 10 hours maximum,if i`m playing a game maximum 1 hour and it's empty. While I'm playing it's warming up,i can bake a cookie on the back.I made all what it was posibile to make from what i have read on this forum since 2014, nothing seems to work for solving this problems for me. So.....i decided to sell it. I found a customer but he knows nothing about rooting, recovery boot or something like this.He knows just the basics and he said to me that if i flash the stock ROM so he can make factory resets from settings whenever he whants it's ok.I told him that the stock ROM it's good for nothing but this didn't seems to bother him.He just whant's the stock ROM.Right now while i'm writing this the bartery went down from 30% to 16%.I am just sick of it. I like it...but if i can't use it.... :-(
