Are there any other hidden settings or configurations that you'd suggest or that Cromi-X offers?
I get occaisonal 2-3 second delays in browsing on any device I own, including my PC and the blazingly fast HTC M8!!!
I know it sucks, but not always the tablet is at fault.
Do you have delays when launching apps? Freezes or "app not responding" issues?
You got those with stock all - the - time, but how quick we forget, right?

data2sd is a hack that allows you force the tablet to use a fast microSD for it's data partition instead of the cheap and slow emmc Asus put in this tablet. Check the TF700 Development section on XDA.
It would work with your current rom and kernel as long as you don't implement f2fs.

To answer your question: CROMi-X 5.4 is probably as tweaked as you'll get on the stock software. I assume "force GPU rendering" is checked? That's in Developer options. Other than that, I don't have advice except to try a different rom....

_that11 with f2fs/data2sd doesn't work out of the box on CROMi-X. You get either "encryption unsuccessfull" error and/or data doesn't mount.
But kansasboy just made some changes to it where he used some init.d files from CROMBi-KK and changes to the ramdisk. No idea if it works though
    It's here: [ROM]★★[JB 4.2.1][CROMi-X 5.4][DATA2SD/ROM2SD | ODEX/DEODEX 10.6.1.27.5][FEB 22]★★ - Post #5548 - XDA Forums
    The conversation with _that is here: [KERNEL][STOCK|CROMI] that11 stock++ kerne… - Pg. 50 | Asus Transformer TF700 | XDA Forums

@OP I probably would go for data2sd and see if that helps. f2fs might help to prevent increasing lag over time, but doubt that it'll do much for speed. Or try CROMBi-KK if you start messing around anyway....
If you do that install the RC3 version, not the latest R1 or R2. A lot of folks have trouble with R1, R2...
Hi my friend and have not talked with you for a while, hehehe.

You are correct that I am a little rusty because I no longer have the tf700t to play around with any more, sadly.... About the f2fs on _that's kernel, I thought that hund and _that are using the f2fs patch but I guessed that it was not the case because _that's kernel seems to have some issues with f2fs.

The rest of other things, you know away better than I do, hahaha.

Yes but you need to dig a lot deeper into the source codes and patches with the improved source code from the newer kernel version. Are you willing to go that far to improve your tablet?

I have played around with all these tweaks for a while and have made some modifications on hund's kernel. I used my own compiled Linaro toolchain targeting the tf700t only and some tweaks in the source code. If you are interested, please let me know so we can try something out to see if it is working better than the default setting on the Cromi X.

True - was just wondering if there were any other tweakable settings with Cromi-X. Yes "Force GPU rendering" is checked in Developer Options. Thanks DroidBound!

@LetMeKnow - don't think I'm to the point where I am comfortable modifying or updating source code... It did take me awhile to get enough courage to unlook, root and flash a custom ROM!

    Thanks to you both!

If you would like to try out different kernel to see that helps in your case, I posted a few different tweaks on hund's kernel for Cromi X on XDA website. Or if I can upload it here, I will upload the latest stable ET version 2.0 for you to try out. Let me know if you are still up to it, thanks and good luck...

Unioncorps. Have you considered switching to a KitKat based ROM to see if it makes any difference? At this point there is only so much that can be done to the original Asus firmware which dates back quite a while.

I have just switched my 700 to CROMiKK from CROMiX, and I am not at all sure that it's worth the trouble. f2fs seems to be the biggest improvement. I do think the native fstrim support and the scripts to run it automatically in the background will help with long-term performance. But this is probably all the speed that can be gotten out of this tablet, which is after all rapidly becoming obsolete. I have just noticed also that there is no super-IPS brightness setting, and its ability to be used outdoors in sunshine is a feature I very much want in this machine, it's the only one I have with that. So eventually I will probably revert to X, even without f2fs.

@unioncorps: since your biggest problem seems to be loading image-intensive web pages, I recommend playing with your router settings. For some reason some tablets seem to like different wi-fi channels better than others. And you might want to talk to your ISP about reducing latency, which is jargon for the time it takes a server to respond to a ping. There are many apps out there which profess to speed up your wi-fi, but I know of no one who has had a lot of luck with them.

There are many more tweaks that can be done to your tablet and its firmware, but from here on out they get increasingly difficult and the results are going to be more and more marginal. So in answer to your original question, no, there isn't much more you can easily do to further optimize your machine.
