    Unhappy TF700 Hangs on startup

My tablet seems to start fine. I get the vibration and the initial screen then it switched to the second screen and the "warm & fuzzy" circle starts to spin. It just continues to spin and never moves any farther. I have done a couple of hard reboots (paper clip in the side of the tablet). After a few tries I get the tablet to come up. When this happened, I deleted a bunch of programs figuring that was the problem. I also stopped whatever games were running. Turned the 700 off and tried to boot again. Same problem with the hangup. Anyone have suggestion on what to do to get the table to boot regularly again? Too old for warranty and really would like to continue to use it. Let me know if you need more info, I am stumped

First thing to try would be to wipe data. If you have anything on the tablet you want to save, try to get it to boot and copy everything to a microSD.
    Then power the tablet down.
Hold the Volume down button and Power button together until you see a screen with three icons. Push the Vol down button until the "Wipe Data" icon is highlighted, then push Vol Up.
Let the tablet do it's thing, it should reboot on it's own once it is done with the wipe.
If you're lucky that is all you need.
If that does not do it you should reflash the complete Asus firmware: [GUIDE] How to manually update/restore firmware (TF101, TF201, TF300, TF700, TF701)
    Good luck

My TF700 has been acting up; sluggish, and apps cut in and out of response. Have been looking at suggestions to fix, but all have SHUT DOWN as step one. However when I engage the power button, the device simply restarts, and the boot hangs over and over again. Is this what's referred to as bootloop? How do I break the cycle?

    Hi Debbie,

Yes, that sounds like a boot loop. Try a very long press on the power button until the device turns itself off. That often breaks the cycle... (not always)

If not, simply hold the volume-down key as it reboots. This should force it into the bootloader screen, and from there see @droidbound's post above.

I am finally trying to fix my TF700 with help from Droidbound. I was able to wipe data on the tablet but I am afraid it did not solve the problem. I now get in time font "Booting Failed" I will attempt to try the additional "reflash the complete Asus firmware". My question is how do I know which firmware to download. The guides state to make sure you download the correct SKU version. I don't know what SKU I have and cannot get into the setting to find out. How do I find out? The back of the tablet has a sticker that states "IC: 3568A-TF700T". What do I do now, what firmware do I use? I don't want to brick the tablet. I did download "ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T Firmware: V10.6.1.14.10 Only for JP SKU (Android 4.2.1)" from the link listed in the guide. Is this correct?

If you are in Japan it is the right one.
    You can go by region:
    US for Nort America
WW for the rest of the world
You cannot mess it up. The stock recovery will not flash incorrect firmware.

I wanted to thank you for your help in getting my T700 back to life. It was a useless brick until I followed your advice and restored it. It is working fine now. I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated your help.
