    Lock / Sleep button

From time to time pressing the lock / sleep button fails to wake my tablet up. The power button always does. Has anyone else had this issue ?

Huh? Do you mean the button on the keyboard dock? You don't have to work that hard to confuse me, it kind of comes natural...

You might try turning the keyboard upside-down and blowing the dust out with canned air or such. Same with the data connector on the tablet itself.

Yep, that's the one. I will try as you suggested tho the problem does not occur all the time.

Keys on a keyboard are not as robust as a power switch. If you take a look on the Play Store you'll find apps that will also lock your device by tapping a screen icon. Saves all the mechanical wear.

Somewhere I saw an app that will unlock a black screen with the same general swipe you use for a regular lock screen. But any such app must keep at least the digitizer alive while the tab is sleeping, and that is going to burn battery power. Kind of negates the whole reason for putting it to sleep.

It occurs to me that we are attempting to solve a problem that doesn't really exist. The button that always works is 20 cm away from the one that (only sometimes) doesn't.

Thanks for that. It's really random, it works OK most of the time but every now and again it plays up.
