    Transformer TF700 Shuts Down Automatically

My transformer was getting sluggish, so I tried a hard reboot, which I have done in the past with success. I may have hit the vol up instead of down a couple times at first. I did finally get the robot icon and he was lying dead with an error sign. I tried this a couple times with the same result. I finally got it to reboot and now when I go into my settings, especially my programs, it will shut down immediately. Everything is factory original. I belive I have JellyBean and it is the 4.2.1 system. I use it mainly for facebook and email. On a side note....what is Tegra 3?

OK - first of all the easy one...
Tegra 3 is the name of the main hardware "System on a Chip" (SoC) that powers your device - the CPU if you will. It is made by a company called NVidia and they have had Tegra 2, Tegra 3 & Tegra 4 SoCs used by Asus on some of their models.

Secondly, I don't think you have done the hard reset (cold boot) correctly & in any case, to be honest with you, IMO you are overdue for a full backup & Factory Reset in order to get your device running smoothly.

The TF700 is well known for slowing down & becoming very laggy over time - you'll see a sticky thread in the TF700 forum all about it. I recommend you backup and Factory Reset from settings if possible, if not from the hardware key combination. If you are unsure about the process we have a step by step guide linked from the Master Help Guide (see link in signature, below).

That should get far superior performance for you.

    All the best
