Refurbished TF700 - Is my tablet rooted?
I am sure that I saw a line that said "tablet rooted" during one of those factory resets or cold reboots I've done. This sounds strange, I know, but I bought the tf700 refurbished from Amazon and I saw it more than once. Saying that, I can't remember where or when I saw it. If it is rooted, how would I know?

If you look at "About tablet" in the settings it should give you a clue.

You may have seen an "Unlocked" message during boot. If so, this means your bootloader was unlocked. This means you can root and install custom ROMs if you see it.
You can download a rootcheck app like this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...krim.rootcheck and it will check to see if you are rooted. You can be unlocked, but not rooted.

Is my tablet rooted?
A strange question, I know. But I believe that I saw the phrase "Tablet rooted" during one of the hard resets or cold boots I recently finished. My TF700 is a refurbished model purchased from Amazon so I thought seeing that was kind of odd. I copied the following info from the About Tablet section in the hope that one of you who actually knows something about the tablet could explain.
Kernel version: 3.1.10-g9827b9a Android@Uranus#1 (I hope that's not just some guys joke about his butt)
Build number JOP40D.us_epad-10.6.1.14.8-20130514
Android version 4.2.1
Thanking you in advance for any clarification.

As I stated in post #3, run the rootchecker app. Also, do you think it says DEVICE UNLOCKED instead of ROOTED?

Thanks MikeM. It didn't. Probably because I didn't know what I was looking for.

Sorry for the thread issue. Didn't catch that. It said Tablet Rooted not Unlocked. Will try to recreate circumstance under which I saw it. Rootchecker said "Sorry! This device does not have proper root access". I guess that means it's not rooted.

Yep, the Rootchecker would be correct. If you want, PM me your serial number and I can check to see if it's unlocked or not. If you purchased it refurbished on Amazon, I highly doubt it's unlocked, though.

Hey guys. I'm not going to worry about whether it is or isn't rooted. I am going to actively study for rooting and do the deed sometime within the near future. It is a little scary when you think about the negatives to rooting. But, the more I read and view videos about the process, the less scarier it bcomes. Thanks Mike,Tien, and last but not least Frederuco.
