Hiya moewcat, c'grats on the new gear...and don't fret just yet. You won't be lost for long.
There is a ton of info in the link in my signature, The Master Help Guide has some great reading to get you going.
Your new android tablet doesn't exactly "close" things the same way that you're used to...and that's okay. It's designed to allocate itself to tasks...as you use them they will be stored down at the bottom left of the screen. (back arrow...house...two squares--which is "recent apps") If you click those two wee boxes at the bottom of your screen, you'll see the apps that you have "open". To close them, just swipe them to the left of the screen. To switch between them, simply poke the one you'd like to open up. As you learn about android, you learn the ins and outs of that...some apps aren't really closed by doing that, but they are doing no harm. Take a read through some of the links and of course, post away if you're stuck. Welcome to the site.

Moving your thread to the Infinity Help Forum for you...cheers.

Welcome to the forum Moewcat! All I can do is echo what Eejit suggested, going through the Master Help Guide is probably the best introduction you'll find on the Android operating system and your TF700. There are some additional ones in my signature too. Just remember, we were all where you are now not too long ago!
