Instal CPU spy to see what's staying active. have found a few apps that cause that problem, the latest was Magicjack. Also you should have Auto Airplane Mode, (by DON), installed if you haven't already.

Download Cpu Spy and see if your tablet is entering deep sleep. When I put my tablet in deep sleep I usually swipe all apps off the home screen so there are none running and turn off the sync function in settings>accounts & sync.

    Also have settings>Wi-FI>Press on 3 stacked squares top right>advanced>Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep>Never . setings>display>sleep>option settings>Asus Customized setting>Disconnect network during sleep>enable settings>Asus Customized setting>MobileDock Battery Saving Mode>enable

Some apps continue to restart and may run in the background using your battery resources. Check your
settings>apps>running and see if anything non-stock is still running when you want to put your tablet in sleep mode or starts running right after you startup your tablet from sleep.

I have auto airplane mode installed, will take a look at CPU spy now

Ive had all those settings like that for a while now and dont seem to be changing anything

I think it may be Maluuba (a siri kind of app) so im gonna test it with that

Edit: No scrap that, that hasn't made any difference, CPU spy seems to be sticking at 51MHz and not deep sleep mode

I strongly suggest you have app(s) draining your battery. Here's a screenshot of CPU Spy showing my tablet's result... the app has to accumulate data, so check again later...

There is a 51MHz on my one, and after about 8 mins, the deep sleep option hasn't been used at all

Do you think its possibly something to do with the fact that there is an update available but im not updating, so the notification has stayed there

No idea. Updating has always worked for me. No sleep of death, random reboots, etc. etc. I have never done a Factory Reset. Just a Cold Boot before and right after firmware update. Your kilometers may vary.
