TF700 doesn't live up to expectations

    Hello,

In august I bought the TF700 with docking station. I was very hopefull, but now, a few months later, I have to admit I'm pretty disappointed. From the beginning, the tablet showed a lot of 'difficulties' which I tried to solve by searching and quite frankly waiting for an update which should solve the problem.

I have tried a lot of stuff explained on the forum and it a helps a bit. Honestly speaking: lately, I use my three year old mainstream laptop (on which I installed Windows 7) more than my 'more expensive then an Ipad3, on top of the range' TF700.

It just doesn't do what it's supposed to do: apps (official apps!) hang, sometimes the tablet completely hangs, the keyboard reacts strange, the tablet is even slower then my laptop and midrange tablets I try in the store, lots of webpages offer difficulties, ... . Even registering for this forum didn't work on the tablet. I had to use my laptop again.

It's just this whole bunch of little annoyances which make me give up: I spend more time in fixing and searching the little problems then using the tablet what it's made for: making my life easier.

Don't get me wrong: I like 'messing' with computers and stuff. But when almost everytime I use the tablet something goes wrong, it's not worth the effort anymore. Especially because I bought this very expensive tablet to avoid such things.

So, I'd like to know what I can do, to make my tablet work like it should: smooth, fast and joyfull. It has the last JB and fimwareupdate, I did a complete factory reset and many cold boots, ... . Just haven't tried unlocking it. Well, I tried but it didn't work ;-)

Is there a 'money back garantee' with the tf700. If so, I'm tempted to give it back.

    Kind regards,

    Kris

Welcome to the forum kbroodco, wish it were under better circumstances! I really have nothing more to advise you to do, my stock advice with the problems your having is to do a factory reset, which you say you've already done. Have you done it "by the book?" When I say that, I mean following the steps outlined in the last link in my signature. If done that way, they often result in positive results, things like repeating the factory reset consecutively three times, reinstalling apps a few at a time, etc. Anyway...

One thing to keep in mind as well is that stock apps are usually flaky just like microsoft works or internet explorer (only there todownload a new browser). I recommend trying different apps from the store (plenty of good free ones too) the only stock app i use is email...

The performance issue may in fact be fixable through a proper factory reset but some people expect an Android tablet to function more like a laptop and it won't/can't. Tablets just aren't intended for everyone's needs.
