    Unable to cold boot

    Hi,
After upgrading to JB I cannot do a cold boot.

I would be using the tablet and everything is fine and then without warning the screen would lock up and no matter what I did it would not work.

When I hold the power button and volume button I get the vibration but nothing happens, the screen remains blank. I then have to hold the power button down for quite a while before it starts up.

Has anybody else had this problem?

    Hi,

I think you may need to do a full Factory Reset to get your device the way it should be. There is a guide linked from the Master Help Guide linked in my signature that will take you through the process.

It has only happened since the upgrade, this is the reason for wanting to cold boot. I have reinstalled my apps and wanted to cold boot a few times to make sure everything is running as it should.

It looks like another factory reset and re-install hopefully it will solve the problem.

There is also a reset, I believe it's on the top left side. You need to use a pin or toothpick to do the cold boot.

Ok so I did a factory reset 3 times, did the accounts and network setup and installed apps etc. Then did a cold boot, this time it worked, but instead of the two icons on the screen I had four and I assume this is correct.

One problem I now have though, the @ symbol won't work when using the dock. If I am setting up an email account I hold the shift key and then the 2 to get the @, but instead of the @ I get ". I have tried everything but it is still the ", if I disconnect from the dock then everything works as it should.
I did another cold boot but it is still the same, anyone have any ideas, apart from doing yet another factory reset?

I suspect you haven't set the correct keyboard in your settings...
But other than that, I'm glad it is working well for you.

And yes, there are 4 options now under Jelly Bean when you cold boot...
