Question Need help with retrieving data

My tf700 was set up with a google account, and it's set in the settings to back up the data to that account. Today I got a replacement TF700 and I haven't been able to figure out how to retrieve the data. Ive synced it with the google account, but I don't even know how to check to see if it was backed up like it was supposed to be. Any suggestions?

I guess it would depend on what "data" you're looking for. If you've synced you should have your Google (gmail) contacts, any wireless settings, and if you open play store app and click the arrow in the top right corner you should have a list of the apps you have downloaded or purchased.

Hi Melanie, if you were backed up correctly your TF should have updated automatically when you entered your Google info on your new TF.

the data I'm referring to is mostly apps. They did not download when I synced my account. So my next question would be, what do I need to do to make sure they backup like they are supposed to for future issues? Its already selected in settings to backup to the account but I guess that didn't work last time.

The best back is to use the App Backup app that comes with the Transformers. It's in your app drawer and works great.

If you used this and backed up to a removable SD card you can restore them from that app ( as you are using a different tablet). If not you will have to redownload them.

Yes AND no. If the different tablet is still a Transformer the answer is that it will work fine.

Thank you lessor. I thought it just saved the data locally I didn't realize it synced somewhere. Good to know.

I want to make certain we're on the same page. The App Backup app will/can backup apps and data. It is a local backup that can be stored, (backed up to) the internal storage as well as a microSD card. Best to keep a copy off the tablet as well in case it gets lost or broken.
