How to downgrade back to ICS?

Is there an easy way to reverse the update to JB? With ICS, it all just worked. With JB, I'm constantly trying to troubleshoot (my latest is that whenever I want to read a book in Overdrive Media Console, I have to uninstall the app, reinstall it, reauthorize my Adobe ID, add the libraries, download the book, and hope to finish it in one sitting so I don't have to go through all of the above again!)

    Hi Andy,

No way to do this without learning to root & flash an older version of the firmware, which will also invalidate your warranty.

If you haven't seen it, then here is a thread giving you a recommended process when you have updated your OS as you have recently.

    Oh dear.
I'll jump through the various hoops with the guide. (A full erasure and reinstall? Ouch!)
    Thanks.

Actually, the .30 firmware supports a direct downgrade even on locked tabs. I did it several times when I was debugging an issue. Download the .30 FW from the Asus site, unzip the file and copy it to the root folder of your device. As soon as it appears, you will get a FW notification. Once you acknowledge it, you will be asked if you want to downgrade. It only works with .30.

Edit: However, I would like to add that I don't think that should be necessary. The JB update is actually quite good. Did you follow the guidelines for updating?

I have tried this (.30 FW) but can't seem to get it to work.
Any screenshots etc or an idiots guide........I didn't think I was an idiot but can't solve.

I am trying to get back to ICS as my HDMI worked and now doesn't!

janner43 is giving the absolute best advice for those with issues on firmware updates.

I have strictly followed the procedures outlined in the link he gave and I have had ZERO issues so far. It all works very well. Smooth, fast and very responsive.

Yes, I admit it's a P.I.T.A. to reinstall all the apps and such, but believe me it's much quicker and easier than doing a complete clean reinstall of Windows 7!

Follow the guidelines in that link and y'all should have no problems at all.

I never learned from a man who agreed with me.
