    power saving mode

Hi all. Just bought my tf700 yesterday. I'd like to leave it on power saving mode permanently but noticed that this turns off the tablet completely when either I just tap the power button (to turn of the screen temporarily) or screen turns off after inactivity. When I say turns off completely, i mean that tapping the power button does nothing. Holding it will turn the tablet back on. When turning the tablet back on it goes through asus logo start up and see that it has changed the power setting to balanced mode. Is this normal that the tablet goes in complete shut down when in power saving mode? Thanks and apologies in Advance if this was already asked. Could not find in forums or the manual that came with it

There was a similar post in another thread, and I'll give you the same suggestion that I gave there. Forget about that setting and install Auto Airplane Mode by Don instead. It's free in the Play store and will accomplish the same results. Try it, you'll like it!

I managed to narrow the problem down. If screen brightness gauge is all the way to the left, then it will always have the issue when hitting the on/off button. But when brightness gauge is even just a little bit higher than zero brightness then the issue goes away. Still a fault in my opinion for why don't I have freedom of brightness?

Got it refunded. Wasn't impressed with battery life anyway. Loved the device though.

Not yet. Need to do my research again.

I was really disappointed with the battery life. But with the keyboard i think it's the longest lasting android tablet? That complicates my choices.
Hate ios, but my ipad1 battery goes on forever!!

my infinity did the same thing, same settings as you.

to each his own on choice of tablet and all, but this "issue" isn't worth returning it IMO. seems pretty minor. Mine shut down at about 10% with everything off, BSM and 0 brightness. Probably a fix for that somewhere other than resetting.
