Question Formatting 32 gig Memory Card

I have been reading the string concerning 64 gig memory cards, and one thing that jumped out at me is that itís best to format ALL memory cards in your tablet.
I have a new (my first) 32 gig memory card coming in tomorrow. I know this is probably another one of my seriously dumb questions, but how do you format a memory card in oneís Asus Infinity tablet? What app or built-in program does one use, and how is it invoked.

Any help for this newbie would be greatly appreciated!

First of all, please do not post the same post twice, creating two new threads. This is called cross posting and breaks our site rules.

Secondly, AFAIK you cannot format cards in Asus Transformers. You must do it in your PC or Mac.

PLEASE Search for existing threads before posting a new one. Thanks.

It can be formatted on your android phone as well, assuming your phone takes a memory card.

    No worries
For some reason, Asus removed the format option, but as timrock says, you could try it in your Android phone, but honestly, a new card "should just work"

Re: Formatting 32 gig Memory Card

Tried formatting a 64gb card in my DroidX and although it went through the motions and showed that it was formatted all the original folders & files were still there...figure that one out.

Here is a link to a great tutorial on how to format you new microSDHC or microSDXC card on your PC for use in an Android phones or tablets, Simon is a frequent poster on the Xoom forums where we found the Xoom prefers FAT32.

A number of folks have stated that the Infinity also works with cards formatted in NTFS which will allow file sizes over 4GB (a restriction with FAT32), so you might like to try this as well.

Re: Formatting 32 gig Memory Card

Tried this with my 64gb card...it did successfully format the card to FAT32 and showed the full capacity but Infinity still failed to recognize
the card. Will try NTFS next.

Interesting... Can you provide details about the card you tried like brand/speed/model etc?

The ones I have working with my Infinity are these: SanDisk Ultra 64 GB microSDXC Class 10 UHS-1 Memory Card 30MB/s with Adapter SDSDQUA-064G-U46A

The card itself looks like what you showed but the packaging says Mobile Ultra. It is so confusing the way San Disk denotes the cards...the packaging for mine was different.
