    Gesture to wake?

Sorry... I've searched but, being new to both Android and ASUS tablets, I'm not sure I'm using the correct keywords.

So far, I'm rather liking the new device but I have one really nagging problem. I can't seem to figure out how to wake the device without using the hard 'power' button. Pressing this button brings the lock screen up and I can unlock using the touch screen. Can somebody tell me if there is a stock Android way to wake the device by swiping on the screen... or, is there an app in can install that adds this functionality?

    Many thanx.

Welcome to the forum Kartman. You can bypass the lock screen through the Settings>Security>Screen lock>None. There are apps to put your TF to sleep by tapping an icon, I use Screen Off and Lock, but as far as I know, there is no way to wake the TF from sleep other than the hard power button. BTW - if your interested, check out "How to Effectively Search the Forum" in my signature.

    The best option is this:

Settings > ASUS Customized Settings > MobileDock Battery saving mode > Uncheck

It will act like a MacBook pro when you have the cover open and it's sleeping. All you have to do is touch any key to wake it up.

I was looking for the same solution for days and found it in these forums...

    Thank you forums.

Correct InfinityAndBeyond, but if you're not docked, I don't think there is a way to wake the TF other than the power button (and charging, of course!)

    Is this what you want?

Found the video on this page. More about this App on XDA. Maybe it's a start to better filter your search

Mizifih, I don't stand corrected yet! I inputted Slide2Wake in the Play store, but nothing came up on my TF or my Razr Maxx. I have a gut feeling that you might have to be rooted to be able to do it!

You have to be rooted, and there are some apps at Google Play, for the Nexus and Evo3D though, and I think that's pretty much it, I couldn't find for any other device.

Any application that constantly monitors devices (like the touch screen) for input are going to eat your battery alive.

Awesome On Off Ultimate in the Play store will wake the device based on the tilt sensors. It works on our tablets, but not all of the functionality. The Awesome OFF part does not work since we do not have proximity sensors.

The best gesture is to use your finger and press a button! or wave your hand and wait for the device to work
