Charging with USB connected to PC

When I connect my TF701 Infinity + dock to a PC using a USB slot, the tablet charges just fine, but the dock doesn't. According to the TF101 F.A.Q. this is because "electric current is not sufficient to charge the battery". If so, how come the tablet does charge? Does it need less current than the dock?

Dock battery used to charge tablet battery?

I noticed the battery life of the dock is a lot shorter than the tablet. It seems this is because the dock actively transfers power to the tablet, so the tablet battery stays charged as long as possible. Is that correct and can this setting be adjusted?

    Welcome

I suspect that what you are seeing is the dock charging the tablet. The usb will not charge the combo. Only the charger will. Have a look at this thread/guide...

I just noticed your second separate thread on this. Please help us out by checking for existing threads & not posting several linked questions as individual threads. Thanks very much.

I've popped your two posts together, above & closed your other thread. Check out our guide mentioned above for more help.

    No worries Jochem

You OK for me to close this thread too - now you can ask anything else battery wise in the main battery thread..?
