Questions about how do do a factory reset

My tablet is really lagging and running slowly and sometimes rebooting for no reason. Sometimes I wait 2 minutes or so just for an app or web browser to completely open, it is really frustrating. I have tried several of the non destructive tips for improving functionality but they have not really helped and I am thinking of doing a factory reset to take it back to it's original state and just start over, perhaps there are some conflicts between apps or in the OS that are causing this slow operation within the processor.

I have music and images that can easily be loaded again but I wonder about the procedure for restoring the aftermarket apps. Is there a best way to make the reset happen and reload the apps I have? I recently culled through my apps and removed quite a few I had tried but seldom used, I thought less apps might increase productivity but it didn't seem to help. However I have some paid apps and others I do use and want to keep. And when I do the reset won't I need to update the OS to what is currently being used? Will it automatically do this?

Sorry if this question has already been answered. If it is already posted can someone point me to the "how to do a factory reset" instructions.

Asus includes an app called App Backup. Use that to backup apps and data. You may need to do groups as it only allows a certain size per backup.

Be aware to back up all music, documents, movies, etc from your /sdcard/. Word documents are not associated with an app and will not be backed up with any of the office apps.

I don't get paid nearly enough! I do this because I enjoy helping others.
