Firmware updates, unlocking bootloader & various questions...

I recently resetted my TF700T because I thought it was lagging.
No I have started to get this error from time to time.
Im also getting it when searching for a factory update.
What to do?

Welcome to the forum. You can reset DMClient by going to settings>apps>all - scroll down to DMClient - clear cache, clear data, force stop - then restart your tablet. This usually works.You'll see some similar threads listed below this reply on this forum webpage - check those out as well.

Why would I need to unlock bootloader on my device ?
I dont see it locked anywhere ...

Under Utilities on this page is a download for it.

I noticed that there is a newer version of the firmware available for my TF700
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T
Same version that I have, but a newer date.

Its a zip-file, so how do I perform the update ?
Download it on the TF700 and unzip it (how?)
Or download t to a PC and connect it to my TF700 (Guide?)

The update was announced months ago, but I havent got it

My TF700 was purchased in Sweden.

You have posted 5 different threads all on a very similar subject that could all easily have been posted together as one thread / question. I have merged them all into this one thread and given the thread an appropriate title. Please try not to flood the board with lots of different threads, thank you.

All your questions are pretty much already covered here already, but I'll give you a few pointers...
1) in the master help guide (link in signature) you will find a guide on "how to" handle OTA firmware updates - that should prove useful to you
2) also linked from the master help guide, is a guide on "how to" factory reset & two further guides on "how to" manually update your firmware if you wish to do so.

I think those guides will answer a great many of the points you have made.

As far as the others go - if you unlock your bootloader you will invalidate your warranty. The only reason to unlock it is to flash a custom ROM / recovery system

As far as "why don't you have the update", I'd suggest the following...
Go to settings, apps, all
Find DMclient & CMclient & clear the cache, clear data & force close both
Do a cold boot (see link in signature)

Upon rebooting go to settings, about tablet, check for updates - if a new firmware is available, that will get it. If it doesn't it is because Asus are not currently pushing it out for some reason - it may be available to download from their website, but it may not if they have withdrawn it from distribution for the time being.

Ok, thanks.
Clearing the DMClient cache solved the problem with the error message.
No update available though....

I got this advice:
* Install CleanROM Inheritance Xenogenesis.
* Use Browser2RAM (installs from above ROM).
* Use Greenify.
* Run fstrim (ie. the app LagFix) regurlarly

Im not that familiar with installing ROMS though, so how do I start ?
