I hate you original asus walll charger! I hate you!

Yup, last night I plugged in my charger and saw a small electrical "snap", and when I put it inside my TF700, it's as if NOTHING is plugged in to it all all.

The cable itself is fine as I am able to transfer files with it, and using my laptop's USB port does charge my tablet, but at a frozen dog poops pace.

I'll be hunting on ebay for a generic 15v 1.2 amp charger.

If anyone has bought one on ebay and has had good luck with it, please post the link here

    I feel ya man.

I've been using one similar to this one for at least a year, doesn't get hot, doesn't trip the thermal breaker, always works.

I've read a wack of posts (and still can't remember) a specific place people pick up replacement chargers...Office Depot(?) rings a bell. Eblob/Amazonia always popular.
Goodluck in the hunt, I'm sure you'll get some direction.

So even though it states tf101 and 201 only, it will work? I didnt realize they used the same connector as the 700. Ty for the lead!

I'm not sure if the connector is the same to be honest. Maybe a 700 owner will chime in.

Here is one on Ebay that is identical to one that I purchased. There are no bids on it right now, and it lasts for 15 or so more hours. The starting price is just a bit over $10.00. It is shipped from California, but it is made in China. I don't think you will find one that is made in the US. Any charger that will charge a tf201 will work with the tf700, and I think that the same chargers are used for the tf101 and tf300. This one has free shipping.

Here is another one that is buy it now. Something a little over $12.00. Also shipped from the US. It is also free shipping.

Here is another one. Buy it now for $9.96 free shipping from San Jose, California.

The link posted by MikeM above is also the same. All will work with the tf700.

Thanks a lot my friend. I will get one of those for sure, tonight.

On a side note, I was able to charge my 700 for a few hrs with a whopping 20% increase in battery health heh.

You dont know what you got till its gone.

I have a TF201 as well as a TF700T, everything is the same. I have 3 Asus chargers, two came with the devices and one I bought in a shop. They're all interchangeable.

I also have some 3party cables (I bought a bunch when my first original cable broke) and they also work fine with both devices.

And I use the TF201 dock with both devices.

Edit: And I believe the TF101 is also 100% compatible with these chargers - there are a couple of TF101 owners here at work and as far as we can tell the chargers and cables are the same as the ones I have.

Well thanks for posting your misfortune...why? I at least see a positive to the asphalt poisoning of my tf300...it left me with a 2nd charger.

And I too feel yer pain as about 18-months ago my HP nx9420 kinda failed it's 'smoke test' when a frayed cable on it's charger shorted and the motherboard briefly caught fire. Have , yet to replace that trusty old beastie and have been making do with an assortment of tablets with the tf300 & now the tf700 doing a solid job.

Likely dictated, not typed, on my LG Motion ICS 4.0 .4 with Tapatalk
