    OS Upgrading

New Member here - 1st ever tablet. I have a TF700/64GB and am curious about updates to firmware / OS and other 'native' software. As an old Windows guy, I'm amazingly lazy about checking for updates. They just appear.

Seems that Android is not to 'passive'. I'm on ICS and in searching the ASUS Site, I didn't see an upgrade to JB or any 'dot' releases.

My question is, should I care? Where do you go to get updates and how long after release do you load them? Is there a 'backout' strategy for an update that impairs or bricks your tablet?

Thanks for any words of wisdom - So great to find a forum where there is so much information!

updates should get pushed to your device automatically or OTA (over the air) without prompting for them. It does sometimes have issues though. Go to settings>about tablet and hit the check for updates button (pretty sure that's where it is, haven't been stock in a long time). it should find them and download them, when they are ready to be installed, you will see a down arrow in your notification area where you can select it and have it install the update.

Excellent! Nice to know there's a convenient 'hands off' approach. I'll check my settings.
