Unable to cold boot after latest update

    Hi Everyone

I'm new to the forums and to android. Got my TF700 (not rooted, since I'm still learning ) about 10 days ago and I have been lurking here trying to learn. I downloaded JB when I first got my tablet, cold booted as described on these forums and it worked perfectly.

Got the OTA update yesterday and have been playing around with the tablet a bit more. I noticed it was a bit "sticky" and tried to cold boot. It will not go to the page with the white writing or the icons like it did before. It buzzes, and stays on black screen till my fingers hurt. Also I have a dock which was attached when I tried boot.

It is perfectly happy to restart to my live wallpaper page and my setup when I turn it back on. Browsers are Dolphin with jetpack, Firefox beta flash installed from adobe site-asks for permission.

I disabled a bunch of the bloatware could that be it?

Also I don't know if the update "took"-it still says android version 4.1.1 and kernal 3.1.10.

    Thanks for any suggestions

Check your build number (should have a 10.X.X.X number). There are quite a few builds of Android 4.1 out there for the Infinity. Latest should be 10.4.4.23.

Not sure why it is not working, it should still be the same (hold VOL DOWN and POWER for 12-15 seconds).

Maybe someone else can confirm or deny that it works.

Also, thanks for joining us here.

    Build number is 10.4.4.23

I notice volume control is locked. I have volume control + and keep having to unlock it. Could that be the problem?

    Thanks for your reply!

That is possible. It should not matter though if you power it down first, then hold VOL DOWN and POWER.

    *sigh*

I suppose I could do a factory reset. I don't have much loaded yet which backup app do you recommend?. Will I get the OTA update again?

Kinda tempted to just try rooting it (not unlock) if I am doing a reset anyway.

Tried the cold boot again. Nada.

    Guess I'll sleep on it.
    Thanks!

Volume down is on the left side of the volume control. Volume up is to the right.
