How to restore settings from old tablet?

I had to replace my faulty Infinity and I thought it automatically backed up to your Google account. I don't see an option anywhere to restore it. Especially photos.

Any transferred or downloaded files would have to be backed up as well as data and settings associated with the apps unless you had used the backup app but even then the photos would not have been backed up.

My suggestion is that you copy, not move, any files from elsewhere to your tablet and use something like DropBox to keep anything you created on the tablet backed up.

What Google sync will do is back up some settings and allows you to reinstall the apps you had.

The settings that are backed up by Google by Android are restored automatically (if they were set to.) My device settings were restored after factory resetting and installing JB. But those are just settings. Photos, apps, app data are not settings. Those have to be backed up by other means before wiping.
