what type of memory is the internal memory on the TF infinity?

When I use the included file manager the internal storage has a data path of /sdcard/ .

I have searched this forum and various reviews but I cannot figure out what the internal memory type is. Is it a SD card? I would think that would have such a limited number of read/writes that it would be foolish of Asus to do this before these "drives" fail.

Also I could not find a "dissected" piece yet for this tablet, has one been made yet. It would be interesting to see the insides of the tablet.

    thanks

I imagine it would just be standard flash memory

It may well me an SD card, but it hasnt been a problem in any of their other devices as far as i know, probably the only thing to rarely break haha

    Wozza is correct IMO.
The /sdcard identification is a legacy of early iterations of Android. Of course any memory - solid state or otherwise has a life expectancy, but I would expect the battery or the screen to "wear out" before the internal flash memory.

So the details of the TF700 on Newegg list the memory as a hard drive.

If it indeed an SD card, it would be important to know, SD cards are more sensitive to heat and have a more limited read/write limit than a traditional hard drive. While folks including myself have made the system disk using an SD card for a laptop, no-one reccomends using an SD card as the primary drive for the operating system for an extended period of time as the read/writes done to manage the system can quickly use up the average read/writes for an SD card which is around 100,000 write cycles.

SD cards also require a periodic usage to keep the data intact as it stores information in tiny battery-like cells. Hence my original question. Does anyone know what is being used for the internal memory?

According to this tear down it's a chip, not really an SD card...LINK

    That's a TF101 but I doubt it's any different on the 700"s.

Whatever it is, it would be designed to last, and like janner said, the battery or something else would likely wear out before the memory
