[Help] Root from Jelly Bean ?
Hello,
I've updated to Jelly Bean using Root OTA Keeper but I must have done something wrong because i can't restore the root on JB anymore ...
I tried to use the tool I used to root my tablet but it doesn't seem to work anymore ...
I've searched quickly on some forums for a way to root it but the only one I found needed the tablet to be unlocked which i don't want to do because i'm too affraid to loose my warranty.
Is there a way to root it without loosing the warranty ? If no, will there be a way ?
( Sorry for my english )
Thanks in advance guys

I have the same problem. I thought I had saved root with Root OTA, but after I updated to JB, root was no longer available.

This worked for me.

For all those people who did not use OTA RootKeeper to keep root before upgrading to JB, there is a way to root the device.*
You need to be unlocked for this to work.
1) Boot into fastboot method. Flash custom CWM JB recovery from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...19&postcount=1
2) Flash CWM-SuperSU.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...15&postcount=1
This should give you root back. You can test using Root Checker.
I should add that the ASUS unlocker tool WORKS on Jelly bean.
Be aware of voiding your warranty.

Checked OP again. Ok so you don't want to unlock.
I spent ten hours trying to root my device after being upgraded from new to stock Jelly Bean.
Breaking that bootloder was my only option.
I managed to recover from two BRICKS!! Which absolutely scared the living c**P out of me.

Assuming you want to remain locked but rooted try this out: mark tech review: Root Transformer Infinity Jelly Bean w/ Locked Bootloader
Basically you have to downgrade to .30 then root, use OTA Rootkeeper and update via OTA method.

I'd like to point out that Rootkeeper is not flawless. chrisdenny posted that he backed up with rootkeeper before updating, so did I and many others, but the backup did not make it through the upgrade process. This is apparently due to a change, jelly bean became aware of where Rootkeeper keeps the backup and wiped it, so Rootkeeper updated to change the location... but people like me that did the backup before the change lost root.
