    TF700 Mobile Dock

    Hi Everyone,

Looking for some assistance. Purchased the Mobile Dock for the TF700. It arrived yesterday. Most of the functionality worked great out of the box; however I am having an issues where some of the alphanumeric keys on the keyboard are not working. For example "q and w" are not working but "e and r" are.

Before I call tech support and the vendor, I want to see if anyone else had this issue and maybe there was a quick fix or setting that I need to adjust.

    Thanks,
    MCofman

    Welcome to the forum

Sorry to say, but if some of the keys just are not working, then you have a faulty dock which you should arrange to have replaced. This won't be a software or configuration issue.

    All the best

    Hi Janner43,

Thanks for the reply. I did contact the vendor that I purchased the dock from. Before purchasing I was informed that this was considered a new replacement (with a 6 month warranty), but now I found out that this particular unit was refurbished. The good news is that the vendor has provided a total refund and told me to toss the keyboard away.

Does this make sense? Is there nothing that can be done to repair? Should I contact Asus?

    Thanks,

I would strongly doubt it & personally wouldn't bother - the docks are good when they work, but hardware repairs on them are normally cost prohibitive. Certainly no point in contacting Asus about it. If you read the stickied dock thread in this section, you'll find you can use a number of different docks on the TF700 so you'll likely find a range of options open both new & per-owned.

But here is another idea for you - sell your TF700 - which has got a poor reputation & use the refund money & it's sale money towards either a new TF701 or even cheaper the new TF103 both which can be bought reasonably. Or if you want to move away from Android, the T100 Windows combo is also good value.

    Food for thought...

    Hi Janner43,

Thanks for the food for thought. At this time, I am planning on keeping my TF700. I am probably in the minority by stating this, but I have a little or no issues with my tablet (probably just jinxed myself). The only issue that I am currently experiencing is occasionally I receive a MyLibrary has stopped. This is more of a hindrance than a loss of functionality. I do have concerns about Asus. Not happy with the way they have handled the whole Mobile Dock solution. Talking to them is a waste of time with a lot of run around. My wife just bought a laptop from Asus. Tried to talk her out of it, but to no avail. Hopefully we will not have any issues.

    Thanks again for the comments.

No worries. Your dollar - your decision.

As far as My Library goes, let me point you towards the e-reading FAQ linked in my signature. I think you'd find it helpful.

Ermmm - the link is in my signature - which is at the bottom of every post I make...

If you are viewing in Tapatalk, you'll need to switch to a browser as Tapatalk doesn't show signatures...

Look down - bottom right hand corner - it looks like this (but with active links) every time the word "here" is used...
