    Looking for a Hands-Free, Hang-from-the-neck case

I'm looking for a case that hangs from my neck (without needing to hold it with either hand) -- and holds the open tablet so I can see it -- and touch the screen resting against my chest. And of course I want the tablet held firmly so it doesn't slip out of the case.

I've seen such cases at Disneyland (the employees were gathering comments and suggestions and taking polls), and the OtterBox Utility does this -- sort-of but not well -- I've read many reports of iPads falling out of it.

    Anybody got ideas or links?

Now this was something I was wondering too. This summer there were times I used the tablet as a camera. Having a case with neckstrap, and camera lens cut out would have mad taking pictures much safer. Holding out the tablet when you are 30 feet up in a Roman amphitheatre can be scary

Wouldn't a digital camera be much better suited for that use?? I just can't imagine purposely using a 10 inch tablet as a camera... For the occasional picture when you happen to be using the tablet anyway, maybe, but putting it around your neck for the purpose of using it as a camera? Wow...

My tablet goes everywhere with me--- and the thrill of seeing the shots on the big screen--well, I take lots more pictures!! And they are breath taking.

I don't know of any, but you could try making a post under one of the "Supporting Vendors" forums. They have company reps that could probably help you out.

I also carry a point and shoot. But the ease of sharing and the quick access to show seniors where we had been that day made it very useful. Plus the panoramas are great and so simple to do. Don't knock it 'til you've tried it.

Taking pictures couldn't be farther from my intended use -- I have real cameras for that purpose. No, my intended use is wireless telescope control at public-outreach star-parties.

So far the only product I've found is the OtterBox Utility case for iPads -- but I've read several complaints that it doesn't hold the tablet securely enough -- and the tablets fall out on the ground. Not something I want.

So I guess I'll just place it on the top shelf of my Rock 'N Roller cart and use it as if it's a netbook computer.
