can't open screen on my tablet
My grandchildren were playing with my Asus tablet on the weekend. Today I have the screen with the picture of the tree in the background but no apps to click on. There is a grayscale text box with a frozen cursor and the image of a tiny keyboard in front of the tree. At the moment I cannot even get the tablet to shut off using the button at the top of the screen. Please tell me how to fix this.

If Janner's tips don't help, try pushing the reset hole. It is a tiny hole near the bottom on the left when in landscape mode. You will need a toothpick or unfolded paperclip. You will have a headphone jack, an oval micro hdmi port and then a very tiny hole, insert the pointy object of choice in that and see if the tablet restarts.
