    Angry SD card slot broke on keyboard dock...

    Folks, I've got my first problem with my new set-up.

    SD card slot broke on the keyboard dock station

    Contacting ASUS now because it's been more than 30 days
    since order from New Egg and they will not RMA it.

    ....

    Sending the following to ASUS:

    "ASUS Transformer Pad Mobil Dock SD card slot malfunction.
    Worked fine for weeks, then today after removing SD card,
    SD card would not go back in. Tried different SD cards, none
    will work. No clicking sound as if the spring or catch mechanization
    has failed. Request replacement or repair. Thank you."


    ...


    So, today is 14 January @ 4:35 PM, Japan Standard Time.

    Let's see how long this takes.

    By the way, living in Japan... this is the only way I can contact them:

    http://vip.asus.com/eservice/techserv.aspx --- service center will not work from my location.

    I got a feeling this is going to be very very very very very very very very very very very very painful.


    *yes, under warranty

    *Registered the dock serial number the day I got it.

    *There are no ASUS service centers on the tiny island of Okinawa.

    Okinawa--> pops up in crossword puzzles, but no ASUS repair center? The repair centers they operate are quite spread out, but odd contact form...or at least it's the first time I've seen someone post it.
    Good luck, hopefully the pain factor will be far fewer 'very's' ... and pls keep us updated on progress.

    I did the RMA form and a few seconds later got....

    I got the SD card slot to work sort of... but now... tablet does not recognize SD cards, any SD card, NONE.

    So....

    ASUS sent RMA,

    I mailed the Keyboard today.

    Now the waiting game.

    No word from ASUS, no update, not notification of repair, nothing.

    Patience Grasshopper...the Infinity repair manual is intense.



    ...and ASUS is known for lax attention to progress updates. My GPS dongle application was listed as 'pending' even after I had attached the device, tested the aerial + promptly fired the dongle into that kitchen mishmash miscellany drawer...you know, the one with the potato musher/cork screw thingy & wire whisk---> the devilish fiend that manages to entangle all, like a giant utencil octopus.
