I think that the external cards formated as exFAT , like the SDXC 64G , are supposed to be able to store files larger than 4G .
Haven't tried it yet , but I'll give a try when I'll get mine . My first propose in getting a such large capacity card is to being able storing such large files . It will be a great disappointment if it won't support files larger than 4G , even I'm using the 64G version of Infinity .

1080p sized video files are often larger than 4GB, so if you are using a memorycard, which has a limit of 4GB per file, you will run into complications. If you copy the video file directly to internal memory, it should play without complications.

It shouldn't be too hard, but it could be that the location your files are at are causing complications, or it could be an issue with how DVD Catalyst is accessing your structure, or it could be a problem with the trial-limitation part itself.

    * You mentioned you have the actual file-structure on your server.
Is the network location you are converting from mapped to a drive-letter?

    * DVD Catalyst can convert Blurays, but in order to work with store-bought ones, it needs something else such as AnyDVD HD/MakeMKV etc. Since you are converting from your server, I assume you already used something similar to put them on your server, so that part isn't needed, however, because of the requirement, Bluray support is turned off by default in DVD Catalyst.
Enable the "Power User" checkmark (bottom right) then go into Global Settings, and look for the Bluray tab, and enable Bluray support there. After that, restart DVD Catalyst, and drag your Bluray folder over on it, and it should recognize it as BLURAY instead of VIDEO.

    * For troubleshooting purposes, select the Asus > TF700T HQXT profile, and do not change any other settings. Start a conversion, let it run for a few minutes, and then tap on the "SKIP" button. Try playing the created clip with VLC and see if it plays.

Bingo changing the settings to allow for bluray and dropping the folder in with the profile you suggested above resulted in a playable file on both the PC and on the Infinity and at pretty good quality. You are correct I do have the server connected as a network drive on my PC.

What is the best quality profile to choose for the infinity?

The HQXT profiles are the best ones.

If you tap on "Modify" change CRF to 20, you are good.

CRF is a feature that automatically adjusts the bitrate during conversion to whatever is needed to match a certain quality value. the default 24 is good at a reasonable file-size, 20 is "mint".

It overrides the bitrate setting, so it auto-adjusts to whatever source resolution your videos have. If you decide to convert a DVD (lower resolution) you can still use the same settings, and you will not end up with an overkill conversion.

As for the resolution, it is a choice you have to make. The screen is 1920x1200, but files that match that resolution (well, a little less, since Bluray is 1080) your files will end up quite large, especially at CRF 20, if you use 720p as a resolution, the files will be a nice bit smaller and will still look good on your infinity.

Ok so tried another full movie on the trial and it once again didn't work tried a couple other profiles and same problem. I then go back and do another 30 second test like you suggested and it worked. So its looking like when I run it for the full run under the trial version they won't play on the PC or on the infinity, the smaller portion works but the longer doesn't? Does that make any sense?

    It does.

The trial version stops the process when it reaches 25%. The stop is similar as what the skip-button does, however, if this takes too long, it performs a "hard-stop" which doesn't write the header of the file correctly. I don't know what would be causing it, but my guess is that that is what is happening. I think that if you "skip" at 24%, the file will work fine, and of course, the retail version doesn't have this limitation at all, so it doesn't happen there.

I ran into this a while ago, and made some tweaks to it to address the issue, but it appears that it still happens.

You are using a network drive as a source, but are you also using an external drive as a destination for the video files?

Source is on a network drive mapped to a drive letter, the output file is being stored on the local hard drive. Ok I may take a chance and try the full version to see if it fixes my problem.

Since the testclip you did worked fine, I don't think you will run into complications with the retail, however, if you do run into complications after purchase, just send me an email (dvdcatalyst@gmail.com) and I'll do what I can to make it work, or refund your purchase.

I have been using Hand Brake with annoying results. Change the settings/spend 2 1/2 hours converting/don't like it/ change settings/another 2 1/2 hours.....etc, etc. I saw the $9.99 sale with the great reviews so I bought it. All I can say is....... WOW..... it is sooooo easy to use DVD Catalyst 4. I have Anydvd HD since they came out with it (worth every friggin penny for the life membership) and using DVD Catalyst to convert my Blu-Ray's is so easy and it did a perfect job and it was 30 minuets FASTER at the conversion of a Blu-Ray than Hand Brake. I converted Star Trek and for me the TF700T HQ1 setting has a much better video and audio quality with a file size of 2.12GB VS the TF700T HQXT with a file size of 1.97GB. For me the extra .15 GB in file size is absolutely worth it for the quality of the HQ1 over the HQXT stock settings (unaltered).

Way to go DVD Catalyst 4!

Thank you for using DVD Catalyst Templar

I am glad you are getting great results.

The visual quality between HQ1 and HQXT differs per movie. More specifically it depends on the scene activity. Slow scenes don't need much, fast scenes need a lot.

The HQ profiles do have a little bit of flexibility to account for fast scene activity, but they are more or less fixed around the selected video quality (bitrate) setting. The conversion can use a little more than what it is set to, but it will not use less.

The HQXT profiles do have a lot of play-room, and will adjust lower if not much is needed, and higher if more is needed. The default setting for it, (24 in Modify) results in a good quality at a reasonable filesize. To produce a quality visually identical to the source video, change it to 20. Files will end up a bit bigger (Looking in my video folder, I have 3.4GB for Skyfall, 3.1GB for Death Race 3 and 2.5 for The Avengers), but quality is "perfect"

For your Star Trek movie, you might not notice much of a difference, but if you convert something like Batman or Avengers, where there is usually a bit more going on in terms of scene changes, you will be able to see a difference.

Good points for comparison of settings are things like a Marvel intro (the comic flip) and big explosions, fast moving large objects etc.
