Kitkat Rom

Hey everyone, first post here at the Transformer Forums.

I'm playing around with the idea of putting a ROM onto my TF300 and was looking into KitKat but didn't know which to choose. I've never really messed with ROMs or rooting for android tablets so I'm not entirely sure what I'm getting myself into. What I'm looking for from the ROM is to simply improve my benchmarks such as batter life, memory usage and to improve overall performance since 4.4.2 runs a little laggy and unresponsive at times on my tablet.

Any and all opinions to the topic are appreciated. Thanks to everyone in advance!

You're in luck! I wrote this complete guide to custom ROMs a month ago. It goes over everything you need to know about unlocking, custom recovery, and jellybean and KitKat Roms. It is also up to date and includes links, something that most guides don't have.

Unless you have your heart set on KitKat I wouldn't recommend it in its current stage for speed and stability. There is a stock based ROM called CROMI- X built off the Asus firmware that is WICKED fast. Seriously the developer should be working for Asus. Cromi is way more stable than cm11 or omnirom right now and it is the first one I recommend to everyone.
