Angry Help to recover file from dead tablet

Hi, my wife was using my TF300T to do university work whilst we were on holiday. On a journey the tablet was connected to a train's usb power and I was operating the tablet fine. I closed the tablet when a customs check was conducted but when I reopened it the tablet would not wake up. I tried a power reboot but nothing was displayed. Later I found that the screens backlight was on but still no other imagery displayed. Eventually the battery run out of life, I then recharged but now I do not get anything at all. I've tried the extended power button press and power + vol- press but no life seems present apart from the green power led indicating a charged battery. I've tried the various power cycling methods both docked and undocked. Connecting the tablet to my desktop computer's usb does not recognise the tablet memory in explorer. I desperately need to get my wife's file off this brick, any suggestions?

The only thing I can think of would be to connect it to a PC and see if you can access the drive.

Hi, thanks for responding. Unfortunately I haven't been able to access the tablet's memory through my computer via usb connector. A query: Can you normally access the tablet's memory through another computer if the tablet is switched off?, or does the tablet need power in order for an second computer to read the onboard memory? Does it matter what version of usb connection on the computer the tablet is connected too?

This would only work if the TAB is up and the screen was just dead or a bad backlight.

Problem solved. I removed the backcover to access the internals. A manual depress on the power microswitch (small round silver circle on the orange track cable) with a pointed object and the tablet fired up as normal. Turns out the rubber nipple of the power switch cover was not engaging the microswitch enough to activate the tablet. I ensured the rubber power switch cover was seated correctly when the cover was replaced and the power switch now operates normally. Phew, crisis averted with the required data immediately dumped to USB backup.
