    Google play services not compatible

I bought this Asus Tf300t today second hand and while setting it up and doing google related updates it tells me Google play services need updated so I go there to update and it says "Your device isn't compatible with this version". I've done the cache clearing and cold booting I read about somewhere else on this forum. What do i need to do to fix this. Thanks

We really don't have enough info to give you a solid answer. I have no idea what version of Android you're on, but it's possible it's old enough to be incompatible with current versions of Play Services. It might be possible to update your tablet through an Asus over-the-air update if it has never been done; it's almost certainly possible to unlock it and install a more modern ROM. Much depends on how much work you want to put into it. An OTA update is the easiest but will only get you a stock slow "Jellybean" ROM. If you unlock, install a custom recovery, and then a custom ROM you can update at least to Nougat; personally, I've been so happy with the KatKiss-Nougatella ROM that I haven't even looked into whether they've come out with an Oreo ROM or not. There is only one developer AFAIK still working with the 300, and I think Timduru did such a bang-up job on KK-Nougatella that he put himself out of the TF300 business. If you decide to go that route, I'll post a link to a procedure for the TF700 that will work for the 300 but keep in mind that the same files will not work, you have to find files for the 300 not the 700. The exception is the unlock.apk which is the same for both devices.
