Recover Data from Dead TF300/100... possible?

    hi,
I have both a TF100 and TF300, one boots to ROM but not the OS, the other doesn't boot at all. I have some video files I made for my son, I would like to recover them from the flash/ram... is this possible? is the memory/storage transportable to another working unit?
    thanks,
    daveC

    Welcome

If you are referring to the Android based TF101 & TF300 then i don't think you have any chance at all of recovering your data. None. At all.

Unless... Droidbound & Kevinthefixer (who have reputations of being left field miracle workers) can come up with some sort of cunning plan. But swapping the storage hardware is not possible.

    Moved to TF300 Help

Sorry, miracles we only do the first Thursday of the 10th month after the last one and I performed one just last week.
But magic - now, we do magic on a daily basis...

In this particular case I might be able to do some of it IF member @dcantera owns a white cat that he can put on his left knee while a black raven sits on his right shoulder AND.... he unlocked the bootloader on the TF300 I seem to be recognizing in that somewhat blurry picture at some point in time.
That would be signified by the words "This device is unlocked" just before you get to the bootloader screen you posted.
If that is not the case reread janner's post

Yeah, what @DB said. Except that: what exactly do you mean by "one boots to ROM but not the OS"? In Droid parlance, the ROM is the OS. Do you mean that it will boot to the bootloader screen shown in the photo? And the other one, what happens when you try to boot it?

But as far as data recovery goes, yes, the key point is whether or not the bootloader is unlocked. If so we should be able to boot the tablet to TWRP and use its file manager to recover data. While we're at it, we might be able to save the machine itself. This may also be true of the other tablet, need more details. Or maybe more devil worship.

TV300 recovery of data videos, pics

I was afraid of that but I wanted to put this out there just in case someone knew how to do it... I'm going to keep the faith, I'm going to hang onto them a while longer anyway.
    thanks,

    So, you're not unlocked, eh?
In that case your data is gone, at least very likely gone. If you have other mobile devices set them up with Dropbox, Google Drive or another of the many cloud services today and enable automatic uploads of your pics.
Backups are a MUST for mobile devices which you might loose, drop or get stolen any minute.

Say - you should have 3 icons on the screen you posted: RCK, Android and Wipe Data
What happens if you press Volume Up on the flashing RCK icon. To move between icons use Vol Down.

I'm gonna power that sucker up again and take a clearer picture, yes it boots to the bootloader and I do have google drive now. I loved the TF300, it was a Great machine but very sensitive. all my other devices are in Great shape, barely any scratches, I killed two of these within 6mos of owning them... Ugh.
    more later.
    thanks for the updates,
    daveC

The TF300 is the only one of theTF line that has its own screen-replacement thread. It's because it combines a fragile screen (NOT Gorilla Glass) with a flexible plastic case.

I think what @DB is getting at is whether or not you have a custom recovery, which might give us a chance to recover your data, either with a file manager or through ADB. But that would require an unlocked bootloader. I can't think of any way the stock recovery could possibly repair the tablet without wiping all your data. Unless: @DB, doesn't the "Wipe" function leave /data/media alone? At least theoretically? That may give us at least a slim chance...

I have given up on the data - it's gone.
