[SOLVED] WiFi not working after second firmware update.

Hi forum. I am new to this forum and I have only owned my TF300T for a few days.

    My problem:

I power up and turn on wifi. My TF300T then proceeds to download an updated firmware. I in turn install it. No problems as yet. A few minutes later I get a second update. Once again, I install the firmware update. All goes well until we reboot. Then I see that the wifi is off. I go in to settings and can not turn it on.

Therefore I assume that the second update broke my system.

    Now for the question:

Best case scenario, how can I do the updates and retain my wifi connection?
Worst case scenario, how can I turn off the automatic updates. I would love to get JB 4.2 up and going but if not, I do have a lot of work for this tablet. At the moment, the first update has downloaded but I will not update due to the fear of loosing my wifi (only way on to the net) again.

    Please Help! Someone Please!

Ahoy Matey!! I have moved your post over to the tf300 help section.
As you have only had your tablet a few days, I think you should try a factory reset. it will wipe any pictures or files you have so back them up to a sdcard or usb drive first. In settings go to backup and restore and chose factory data reset. Let us know if this fixed your problem. It is not normal to loss the ability to turn on wifi with updates so it is just a glitch. Your update that you installed will still be on the tablet after.

    Sorry for being stupid!!!

Sorry for my stupidity...but do I understand you right? I did 2 firmware upgrades and did a "backup & wipe". Do I keep the upgrades eventhough I did a "backup & wipe"?

Your suggestion worked. I now have wifi working.

    Yes, you do

Despite the name "Factory Reset", what actually happens is that the most recent firmware update installed on your device is reinstalled from the protected partition on your TF. A better title for the process would be "Current Firmware Reset" or "OS reset".

You are not alone, a lot of folks think that "Factory Reset" means what it says... quite understandable too..

Glad your device is working again. I have marked this thread as SOLVED
