Corrupted photo files?
Please picture the following:- I start my tablet/keyboard combo with the 500GB external hard drive plugged into the USB port, navigate to the photos I want to transfer via the file manager, select the ones I want to copy in groups of up to 50 and then copy to the micro-SD card into the picture file I have created. Next I open the Gallery program and go to look at the new files and find a large percentage of them have grey areas instead of being complete pictures. Not only that but photos that were previously copied and shown to be ok have become the same as the new ones! Can someone please explain what might be happening here? I'm guessing the files are getting corrupted but need to find out why?
Cheers

Russell,
I have never had any bad photo transfers to or from USB, SD or microSD card on my tablet.

It sounds like it may be a viewing issue, have you tried viewing the pics in a different app.Quickpic is free on the Store and a pretty good gallery replacement.
-
This happened with both the standard issue "Gallery" and "Fishbowl" so not really a viewer issue? I have deleted the affected pictures in the past and reloaded them but some will usually turn out in the manner described and guess I could do it again but it's a right PITA and should be unnecessary.

You are correct, if it happens in 2 different apps it probably wont be a viewing issue. So much for the easy fix. Hopefully someone here has aa new suggestion for you.

Logic would seem to indicate that if the original files on the external HDD are fine & that this only happens when you are copying them to the microSD card that either...
1. The microSD card is faulty or
2. The microSD card reader is faulty
The only way to check will be to try a different microSD card...

Many thanks for the suggestion, will have to investigate.
