About LinkBacksMy tablet is acting a bit sluggish, and I did a factory reset a few hours ago. I already updated to Jelly Bean. Any settings modifications to speed things up?

not sure on optimizations, but auto screen off and airplane mode when screen is off helps save batteries. Have you downloaded virus checkers? I have 3 or so virus checkers on my tablet - probably overkill, but my suspicion is that what one misses the others will catch... avg, avast, and lookout.

The one click kill widget also helps a lot... but I've read that kill apps like that are not so great since they might kill some background stuff that actually helps android work better and defeat slugishness itself by loading a few things in background that it will need later I basically use that widget any time I quit playing a resource hog like games, video editing apps, etc.

Just a couple of comments/suggestions for you
You can try altering the performance mode of your TF300
Turn off Google Now - that takes a lot of "horsepower" & in my view is a total waste of time, space & bandwidth
Do a weekly cold boot
I don't think you need to run 3 security apps & yes, mastermesh is correct, using a task killer regularly will marginally slow down your device also.

I looked for Google Now on my TF300 - I cannot find - is it pos I haven't got it installed, and so cannot turn it off?

google now is in your app drawer under the name google, blue icon. Don't know much about the performance settings, but you could try something like performance if it's there.

Yes I found Google Now in the app draw with its blue icon.
Pressed it and looked at settings which says Google Now Off.
So that's good.
