Process com.google.process.gapps has stopped
Hi Everyone,
I searched for this and couldn't find an answer, hopefully it isn't a repeat thread.
After an update installed a few days ago I keep seeing on the screen 'sorry but the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped'. I tried the cold reboot I saw mentioned elsewhere on this site and didn't have any results. Did a factory reset via Settings, but also no help. Anyone have ideas how to fix this or know of another thread that has discussed? Thanks in advance.

One other thing... I have read about this issue occurring because of calendar sync issues as well, so perhaps you could troubleshoot by not allowing auto sync on your Google account & trying the tf300 for a bit then add different sync elements back in until you get the issue (if you don't get it, of course, then that would be just as good - if not better).

Thanks for the tips. Unfortunately after several more factory resets nothing has improved and not sure what to do next. The problem appears before I even enter in my google account after the reset. It is the first thing that appears on the screen after it restarts. But to answer your question, no I did not save my apps and have them restored. I didn't try slowly adding sync because it was clear from start-up the issue is still happening. Any more ideas would be welcome. Thanks.

Interesting as this has been reported on numerous forums lately. As far as I know, a fix has not been found.

What they are saying over at XDA id to go to all apps and clear data from anything that has the name Google in it. Then reboot

Thanks for the reply. Maybe I am missing something, but since I just reset I have no downloaded apps, only the factory ones. None of those have any data listed as in storage or in the cache. But when I go to running apps and touch "show cached processes" quite a few apps show up but with no option to delete the cache, only to "stop". Is there another way to delete the cache or data from the apps as you suggest?

No real way to do this if your stock. I would disable sync and restart the TF...

Following your Factory Reset & without connecting to wifi or adding a Google account, try this (a very long shot, but perhaps worth a try)
If you go to settings, apps, all - try looking for anything that is called Google or things like Play Store or calendar or Gmail or browser etc etc
Anything you find, & where you can, do as many of these as possible... clear cache, clear data, force close
Go through all the apps of the type I describe - include anything like Download manager, DMclient, CMclient, anything that looks "google-ish" - and do that clearance on each.
Then, from a PC, log into your Google account & turn off any syncing that you can control from there.
Then do a cold boot (link in signature) & at that point add your wifi connection & Google account, but do not allow auto syncing.
See what sort of response you get then...
