Exclamation TF300T won't load past the ASUS loop screen

    Hi There!

My tablet turns on, goes to the first black and white asus screen with the nvidia sign on the bottom right corner, then goes to the second screen, where it just says asus and some other stuff in silver and has a loop loading sign that just spins round and round and round and doesn't go anywhere past that. It was working fine, then yesterday it was asleep undocked and i plugged it into my computer to upload a video to it, press the power button, and it started doing the above...... I tried forcing it off a few times (holding down the power button) and it shuts off for a few seconds then turns back on, gets to the loop, and stays. It did this until the battery ran out. Then I charged it to full and tried to turn it on again, same problem. Not sure what to do now???

Please help!!! ALL my semester one notes and powerpoints are on here, and ONLY here!!! I need it for revision!!

    I'll be forever grateful. <3<3

Welcome to the forum. At this point I would suggest you follow the Cold Boot procedure as outlined in the Master Help Guide, linked below in my signature. You won't lose any of your work. Give that a try and report back.

Is it 100% stock, or did you unlock it and put a custom recovery on it?

Try the hard reset (it will not erase data) from the master help guide.

A hard reset is the same as a Cold Boot. In fact, the term Cold Boot is the proper one as that is what you'll find the OS calls it.

Watch the messages you'll get as you follow the Cold Boot procedure and you'll see what I mean.

    Hi there!

Thanks for the welcome, I've tried this after looking at some other posts and it didn't do anything. it just shuts off, and starts the process again.

I'm not sure what you mean by 100% stock? I bought it from PC world, and have not done anything to it except change the layout, background, etc. and add apps and such. I only use it at uni to make notes during lectures and watch a film on it everyday for 40-100 minutes while jogging at the gym. it hasn't fallen, and it's always in a protective case. It's actually quite new, a month old maybe? It was a replacement after I broke the screen on the last one, sent it in for repair and they lost it. Which is why I'm quite hesitant to send it in again...

Aaahh I see what you mean now. I was pressing the power THEN the volume button. I've done it now, it goes to the cold boot screen, says it is "cold-booting linux" then "signature approved" or "signature matched" or something, restarts, gets to the asus loop and gets stuck as usual. I've tried it while docked as per recommended by the master help guide and it still does the same thing.

I'm sorry to say it but I think your data you had on there is lost. My next thought is to have you do a wipe data from the cold boot menu, it will wipe everything, but should hopefully get you running again.

Or you might try to reinstall the firmware before doing the data wipe.
You can download the latest firmware version here. Choose Android as OS.
Make sure you download the right SKU version as instructed, e.g. US, WW etc.
Unzip the downloaded file only ONCE!!! and place that zip file (yes it's also a zip file) in the root of a micro SD card.
    Turn off tab.
    Insert micro SD card.
    Turn on tab.

If all goes well it should start installing the OS. In my experiance this doen't wipe any data from the internall SD card so all your uni files should remain.

Sorry, I'd like to think of myself as fairly computer literate but i'm rather dumb in tablet world. How do I know which SKU I have? I have (kind of) tried this, but I'm sure I've done it wrong, like with the cold boot. I have the files from inside of the zip in my sd card but nothing happens? What do you mean by root? And If i'm placing the zip file into the sd folder then why do I unzip it?
