    Angry Home screen not rotating

I have set to auto-rotate but suddenly my home screen won't rotate.
When I go into other apps or settings, it rotates without any problems
but the home screen is fixed in the portrait mode and won't rotate even when it is docked.
    Can anyone help me out??

Read on the forum that if you put the tablet on the floor screen side up of course & move it in a figure of eight motion it recalibrates the sensor, Give it a try...

This is a problem that also manifested itself on my tf101. Exactly as you describe. The only reliable way I could resolve it, whenever it happened, was to turn the device fully off & leave it for 30-60 minutes. Every time I power on if it has happened, as long as I have turned it off & left it for that sort of period, it then works fine.

I still haven't got to the bottom of why or how, but what I have described works every time - not that it happens very often. the last time was months ago now.

    HomeScreen doesnot auto rotate

    Hi All,

I am having a similar problem. I just got the last update. Let me mention my versions etc:

    TF300T
    Android 4.1.1
    Kernel:3.1.10 (android@neptune) #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Nov 22 21:28:51 CST 2012
    Build Number JRO03C.US_epad-10.4.2.18-20121122
    PadECVersion PAD-EC20T-0216

First time I noticed this was just after the last update I got OTA it updated reset and then it would not auto rotate in the home screen. IT does it when you enter an app with no problem.
But it does not on the home screen.

I have tried multiply time of coldbooting, I turned it off for a short period of time 5 - 10 minutes and restarted it, I have reset the auto rotate switch... could there be and does anyone now if the upgrade has a bug? OR whatelse could it be....

    Hope you all can help.

    Thanks,

    Peter Fraga

    Welcome to the forum Peter

If you look at my post in this thread immediately before your you'll see my solution was...
"The only reliable way I could resolve it, whenever it happened, was to turn the device fully off & leave it for 30-60 minutes"

I hope that would work for you too...

84dk1004 and Fragapete, if all the above suggestion fail to do the trick, you might install an app like Rotation Control from the Play store. As the name suggests, it gives you complete control of the device's rotation!

After the most recent OTA update, the home screen wouldn't rotate from landscape. My old Acer a200 had a rotation lock button but I was unable to find any setting that would undo the lock. I installed the "auto rotate widget" from the Play store and it works fine, but it seems that if the widget can control it, there must be a setting somewhere that would do the same thing. What am I missing? Thanks in advance!
