eMail problem - continually downloading old emails - help please

I wonder if you can help with this eMail problem.
On my TF300, using the stock email app, my virginmedia/blueyonder email is setup and works.

The trouble is, as fast as I delete the downloaded 25 emails it then goes and downloads a further 25 historic emails.
We seem to be going back over the many weeks and months of the emails that are sitting on the virginmedia/blueyonder server.

I only want today's emails downloaded - not the huge archive of [7000+] emails.
This problem is the same with the freebie version of K-9.

    Any ideas please?
    Thanks,

Try logging into your VM/Blueyonder account, then go to your online inbox & delete them all from there.

    Thanks Caldera.
I don't want to delete 7000 emails from my VM/Blueyonder account.
There are none in the Inbox.
    All emails are marked Archived.

I just checked the stock mail and it doesn't have that setting. I use Kaiten Mail which allows you to sync just the current days mail. K9 is the free version of Kaiten it may have this setting as well.

Thank you Jeffrey, I looked for that sort of setting in K-9 free - I cannot see it.
Looks like I'm gonna have to buy the full version

I do wonder how suitable the email program is as you mention '25' emails. I get a lot more than 25 emails in a day, so this '25' which appears to be the maximum makes the function useless for me ... I miees any emails >25 plus I can't bring up any of the previous 25 emails.

I therefore revert to my mobile phone when away from base or not able to us my laptop and i am wondering whether the TF201 is worth bothering with. My wifehas one [I bought 2 last June] and it is OK for her as this restriction doesn't seem to be with GMAIL - all emails are downloaded and none deleted.

I have reset the email account a couple of times in case I have missed a setting but it doesn't seem so.

    Bon voyage TF201 I think

There are other email apps you can try. Aqua Mail, K-9, maildroid, etc. They are in the Google Play store. You'll probably get some recommendations from other members.
