    Battery/Charging issues - TF300T

Hello! Found this forum the other day, bookmarked it instantly. ^^
I've had my TF300T for about 2 weeks and loving it, the only let down is the battery. (I do not have a dock)

I'm currently out at sea, and the only charging i can do is via an ciggarette car charger to the USB that came with the pad.
The charging is EXTREMELY slow, about 2-3% per hour. We were planning on seeing a movie on it, but eh..
Is there a way to speed up the charging?
It seems it cant be powered off during charging, correct? as soon as I plug in the USB it boots up.
The device also goes in some kind of sleep mode after a while, I must then hold the poser button for 5-10 seconds before it boots up (from the start).

I do close all running apps before charging, but it seems lile the apps start themse÷ves after a while, (Gmail for example). Is there a way to "clean up" the startup applications?

Any suggestion on how I can improve the charging? I have not been able to search around a lot since I am on "Edge" with my 3G, so I apologize if this has already been answered.

Welcome to the forum Schefen! You might be stuck with the slow charging, but you should be able to turn the 300 off while it's charging. If you don't want it to go to sleep, simply go to Settings, Display, and set it to never sleep. Also, if you don't want Gmail to sync, uncheck it in Accounts and Sync.

Thanks a lot! I haven't explored the device as much as I would like yet. :-)
I ment more of how to turn the gmail service off, there are a few more that I don't use and I don't want them to run for nothing.
These are what's left on the startup that I don't use:

    Google Play Music
    YouTube
    PixWe
    Asus Weather

I do use the YouTube application, but I can just dtart it whenever I want to use it.
Is there individual ways to tirn them off or is there any service/startup manager?

    Schefen,

Don't worry about these apps loading in the background, it is the way Android works. Disabling them or killing them will do more harm than good. See... http://www.transformerforums.com/for...-need-one.html

When it comes to charging, see... http://www.transformerforums.com/for...mer-range.html

If you want to get rid of apps that can't be uninstalled, bloatware, you can disable them in Settings. They'll disappear from the app drawer, and will be deligated to the bottom of the app list (All). If you stop apps from syncing, that should save battery power. Then you could do it manually. Also, there is the TF task killer.
