Bluetooth file transfer problem
bluetooth, pairing, file transfer, problem, bug,
Around 2 weeks back i bought my first android tablet the tf300.
So far its been a good tablet but I have a major problem I need addressed.
Bluetooth connectivity.
I wanted to transfer sum files from my HTC desire z to the tab but it won't let me.
The tab keeps saying the phone is paired but not connected, when I try to transfer the phone gives an error saying the transfer is 'forbidden' by the tab.
Has anyone experienced this as well?
PS if this is a device glitch I'm screwed coz I bought the tf300 from abroad.
Thanks

Try either ES file Explorer or File manger HD, they are both free and allow file transfers via wireless or BT.

Thanks for the reply helpifican, i currently use es file explorer on my htc phone and tried to transfer from it to my tf300 but the pairing only pairs the 2 devices and does not connect them. Hence the file transfer is not allowed.
Anyone else have any thoughts?

What is the file type you are sending? I had the same issue when sending a KDB file (keepass database). Thought it was a bluetooth pairing issue. Then I sent a JPG and that works great. I haven't tried others to know if it declined because it was a database or if it was an unrecognized type (keepass was installed) .
I would love to hear if there is a modifiable list somewhere.

Actually the the file type i'm using is not exactly a common one, it is either .cbr or .cbz compressed archive mostly used for storing comic book scans to be read off a reader.
I think i will try a standard file transfer like a .jpg or .txt and see if it is the case.
Thank you for your input genuser :-)

If it is a case of certain file types not being transferable, you might try the route of renaming the target file to change the extension (something basic like txt) and see if that fools the filter. Then just change the name back once it's transferred. I know that's a bit simplistic, but I tend to go for the simplest solution.

I just tried it and that works too. I actually tried that going through Google Drive and it didn't work. GDrive did something to the file along the way. Bluetooth works.
Thanks!
