    is my tablet bricked

    hi,

i bought yesterdy a tablet from a private person and not a store. the tablet looked new, wraped in original wrping and all, and i didn't started it on, since i was told the owner didn't even do the 8 hours charge.

after charging, i started on the tablet, and it got stuck on the ASUS logo. i tried hard reset (button down + power for 12 seconds or more) but all it doe's is again the asus logo and nothing more.

is there anything that can be done?

needless to say the person i bought it from is unrechable (going to the police to comlain of fraud, but i was too stupid and didn't took his full details)

If you can get it to come on at all, likely it's not a total loss (brick)

Since you've nothing to lose, you could try the factory reset option -- just like the hard reset, except when you see the boot-screen, press VOL UP to change to "factory reset" option, then confirm.

First, I would try downloading the latest firmware from the ASUS support site. Unzip it once (it will still be a .zip). Put in on a microSD formatted for FAT32. Boot, and it should trigger a firmware update.

If that does not work, my suggestion is to run Peri from this link: http://www.transformerforums.com/for...-firmware.html

This will install custom recovery (ClockWorkMod Recovery). Once this is installed try flashing the firmware from the microSD (I believe that the recovery installed with Peri will read external microSD cards).
