I have made my TF300T as fast as new

I have been trying to speed up my TF300T for years now. I have new taablets, but there is something about the TF300T that is very appealing. In short, I use SuperNote, and SuperNote pro a lot, so I didn't want to dump the tablet. The only way I found to speed it up is to load stuff that does not sync, and after the note programs and stuff I want (that does not sync) I removed my Google account from the tablet. Nothing syncs, and Google Play store is no longer being accessed. Bam! Fast as lightning. I don't even sign in on YouTube, but everything still works. I use the stock browser. If I make a document or PDF or note and I need to send it, I use bluetooth or a wifi transfer program to get it to my phone. The wifi transfer programs are real fast. I sent an 11 gb file from the Transformer to the phone in less than 10 seconds using SuperBeam. From the phone I send or save the file I need. I use the stock browser to sign into my yahoo acount for email. Apps that sync seem to slow this TF300T down big time.

This solution gives the best experience possible, however you give up syncing and updates. I sign in my Google account once a week and let it sync all night. It takes a few hours sometimes, but in the morning it's done and I delete the account from settings and there are no lags whatsoever. Just make sure all your accounts are deleted under settings. All it takes is one account to hang it up. It works just like new, because it isn't syncing anything, just like it was when it was new.

Turning sync off for each account should accomplish the same thing. But if you want the tablet faster yet, unlock it and install an up-to-date ROM. You can install SuperNote on the new ROM, it's in the Play Store. My 300 has never run better than it does now on KatKiss-nougatella.

I would like to try KatKiss-nougatella. Can you reccomend the best tutorial? I don't have a USB data cable. Can I do this with SD card only? I tried to unlock the tablet with asus "Version V8_For Andorid 4.2" unlocking tool copied from SD card to internal storage and it ran but wouldn't proceed past the warning screen with big orange triangle. Any advice will be appreciated

Sure thing, you're even in the right forum:

[GUIDE] How to Root/Install ROMs on the TF300. Jelly Bean KitKat and Lollipop ROMs

Now, this does not specifically cover Nougat. However, there is only one choice (AFAIK), and that's KatKiss-Nougatella from Timduru on XDA:

    https://forum.xda-developers.com/tra...t/rom-t3453702

Read the first few posts of both links, paying special attention to the installation instructions. You now must flash the ROM, GApps and SuperSU in one shot with no reboot in between.

I suggest you invest in a data cable. I think it's possible to flash TWRP recovery without that and a PC with Fastboot installed and working, but I don't recommend it. Certainly not for a beginner, just the fastboot commands get hairy enough, fooling with dd commands in a root terminal is just asking for trouble. It would be much simpler to throw the tablet off a bridge or something, although that might constitute littering and that's unlAWFUL. The fastboot method is the simplest and most reliable way to install TWRP, and has the added benefit of emergency repair should you brick the tablet. Last I checked, these cables can be had under US$5. Get an extra.

Good deal! You can't read up too much. Most of the problems we see here are due to lack of that.

Finally got my data cable. Just installed Katkiss 7.1, works great! Thanks for the help
