Any sign of Android 4.3 for TF300?

Anyone have any more news on Android 4.3 for the tf300?

I am thinking of buying an asus memo pad hd 7 as well, but am holding off on buying any more asus android products until I have confirmed that the lag issues have been fixed, and I hear that 4.3 solves that.

I have done the factory reset fix several times before but the benefits last only a few weeks at most before the sluggishness returns.

As much as I'd love an update to 4.3 I'm highly skeptical at this poin that we'll receive any more android updates on our unit. If you're strictly interested in the trim support they added, you can always root your device and install lag fix (fstrim) from the play store to accomplish the same thing.

I am really frustrated with Asus tablets-from the lag in typing to the slow web searches. I recently purchased and $89 7" Nextbook tablet. It has no lag and web searches are snappy. Pages loaded quickly and accurately. It uses 4.1. It has 8mb and an sd card. The only things it lacks are an HD screen and Bluetooth. Yet even the audio is better. I now prefer it to the Asus because of its superior performance even with minor tasks. I will never purchase another Asus tablet. I had a TF101 whose backlight burned out after a year. I unfortunately bought the TF300 and its a dog. I just don't think that lag and slowness are necessarily simply an android problem.

    Hello

I too had lag issues however after I wiped my Tablet clean several times and dumped as many caches as I could find, following advice from this forum, everything returned to zippy speed. :-)

    I'm hoping that we get Kit-Kat. :-)

I believe that ASUS will not let us down and will come up with the 4.3 update. The tablet is more than capable to work with 4.3. I have been extremely satisfy with ASUS and every update has improved the perfoemance of the TF300, unlike Samsung, which is more interested in selling new hardware and dropping support of older models. It is my believe that ASUS cares about its good name by keep every product working to the utmost.

Don't know if the V10.6.1.27.5 update is 4.3 (kind of doubt it), but perhaps it fixes the lag issue. I've noticed lag issues with CROMi-X 5.1.1 (Android 4.2.1) but using lagfix seems to help some. Had to downgrade to 5.1.1 from 5.2a after the lag issues turned into a kernel panic and a boot loop. That's only happened a couple of times with my TF300T (way less than it ever did with any of my phones), but it's annoying. Might go back to stock just to see.

Having said that, though, the Transformer has been a good tablet, definitely worth the money, and if I had the opportunity I'd buy another Asus tablet.

    OS Upgrades

Is Asus going to upgrade our OS for the TF300's,any time in the near future? The OS that we have is slow and unresponsive, most of the time.

    Welcome to the forum

I have added your post to this existing, current thread which covers your subject. Thanks for understanding.

At the moment I'd say the odds are no better than 50/50 for the TF300 to be updated by Asus past it's current version of Android.

    All the best

It's too bad they seem to be cutting off support. I've been really fond of this thing.

If Asus is not going to support tf300 that their still selling, then I guess I'm done buying Asus products.
