Its name is Daydream, a new feature in Android 4.2

Thanks for the tip "glostemeteor" that's the only thing I find to be at fault with the 4.2 upgrade but it's a pretty heavy fault at that when you can watch your battery drain before your vary eyes like a magic trick....so off goes the Daydreamer.

Unzip the file and there will be another Zip file .Put the second Zip file on a empty micro flash card and put it in a turned off tablet . Turn the tablet on , there will be a triangle in the notification bar after bootup . Tap the triangle and it will let you know there is a Downgrade available install it . Remember this does wipe the tablet . So backup your stuff.

Make sure you downloaded the correct file for your region for version 4.1.1. And it is for the TF300T .Unzip it once not twice . Put it [ the Second zip file ] on a blank micro SD card .Put the card in the slot in the tablet . Restart the tablet .
Try downloading from Asus again in case the file is corrupt . I am not an expert on this I did it and it worked for me .

    Wallydog... thanks.

The standard rhetoric from Asus is that you can't downgrade but per usual they are mis-informed. I really got tired of the random shut down issue with version 4.2.1 so I really needed to step back to the 4.1.1 version (that was stable at least). Just did the process and took about 15 minutes to download, unzip and install on the tablet.

I too would like to thank you Wallydog. After the 4.2.1 update, internet video was abysmally slow. After I downgraded to 4.1.1 it seems like I've got a tablet which I can use again.

    Thanks

Thank you wallydog, upon this discovering I can also state that if you put the update(2nd zip file) in your /sdcard it works too. It wipes all the data so be sure to backup your stuff.
I've downgraded to 4.1.1 because my wi-fi connection was broken, I would get internet but it would stay grey and wouldn't change to blue, so because of that I couldn't enter my play store or access my google accounts. I did a couple of factory reset in 4.2.1 and my wi-fi was still broken. Now after I successfully downgraded it all works well, the hdmi sound and options for screen size are back and the battery life drain looks much more stable than in 4.2.

How do you keep the tablet from updating back to 4.2.1? I downgraded to 4.1.1 but it has already downloaded the 4.2.1 update and it looks like I only have to touch an icon the the update process will start all over. Thanks for your efforts in this area.
