4.2 bug list/issues to send to ASUS

Hey everybody, since a lot of people visiting this forum are having similar issues with the recent 4.2 jelly bean update I thought it might be a good idea to compile a comprehensive list of problems and send it to ASUS on behalf of the forum and its users. Otherwise how are they going to know we are having problems unless a lot of people call their service line.

I know I have not had any major issues other than general slowness and battery drain but I am sure there are others. What do other people think logout this idea? It wouldn't hurt to try

    Moderator's Note
I would like to thank Gtanner00 for contacting Asus on behalf of members here with regards to this subject. The response from Asus can be read in this thread - Response from ASUS regarding 4.2.1 update issues

    Good job Gtanner00

    I'll start.

No audio when tablet is connected to my TV via mini HDMI. It worked perfectly before the update.

Apart from General slowness and battery drain, random apps run on their own in the background. You cannot see this by clicking on the 'app switcher' to see whats in the background, but u need the asus task manager widget on ur screen and you will see a few apps that u have neve clicked on are running in the background. Might be a reason for slowness and battery drain.

Why you are describing is normal for Android. It is the way the system runs. Apps specified by the OS are preloaded into RAM to make them more responsive. The behaviour you describe has been discussed frequently, but there is no cause for concern.

+1 for the battery drain. I am experiencing a heavier battery drain now with 4.2.1

I currently have no other bugs I know of at this time.

Battery issues here as well. Along with random browser crashes I had not experienced before the update. l'm sure they'II just say it is a problem with Dolphin, but it did not occur before.

Is any one missing Photo Sphere mode in Camera? There supposed to be separate icon for this. This new sphere feature is mentioned in Android web site. I already started post in help section but not many people responded.

I am definitely missing this new photo Sphere.

    Thanks

Re: 4.2 bug list/issues to send to ASUS

It is a good idea to let Asus know about issues with the 4.2 update . They may not be able to solve the problems without the Google Android developers making changes to 4.2 It is new to devices , right now the tf300 and the Nexus 10 are the only tablets with hdmi andJB 4.2 and both have similar HDMI out problems . Both the sound and the aspect ratio problem with some TVs . There is a Bluetooth problem with version 4.2.1 that was addressed with 4.2.2 . Google with 4.2 made AUTO Airplane apps useless .
What I am saying is Asus may not be at blame here it seems to me as several Google android problems .

I am prepared to be wrong on this, but I thought I had read that the PhotoSphere was unique to Nexus devices. Can't remember where though...

I have found the volume up/down has been erratic since the update. Sometimes ou push it and nothing happens. You need to cold boot it to get it working again. Also been affected by the WiFi not going to sleep prperly and killing battery time.
